Interpreting The Watershed

I moved to 'the rivah' in 2000. Something drew me here. A feeling of home, though I didn't have words for it, more like a deep sigh. Releasing all the held emotions of a thousand lifetimes, I returned to painting.

I'd stopped painting, given away the artist, her paintings, her dreams. My world had became dark without her, and in the darkness I first saw her light. Not a gushing river, sparks of light in vivid dreams. Voices and visions of lives past, a river of memories embodied. As I painted, the river released something deep inside me, a healing flow of life-affirming feelings. Coming home to myself. The river paintings tell her story.
