The marsh filters the flow of streams and rivers. The soil is soft and muddy, rich in nutrients. Not a bog, which is fed only by rain, low in oxygen and nutrients. The symbolism here is important in distinguishing acidic or toxic, bogged down environments.
At various times during my healing journey, I felt drawn to water. Taking a moment to distinguish the particular characteristics of water within the landscape of the heart, transformational symbols appear. Taking notice of a bog might enlighten something that bogs us down.
Distinguishing streams that feed the marsh we find ourselves in, give us the opportunity to step back and choose our position within. Equally significant are the celestial bodies, the sun, moon, and stars -- and how they frame our landscape.
