Interpreting The Watershed

I grew up body surfing along the Jersey shore. The feeling of riding the waves never left me. Feeling bouyant as salt water lifts the body up over the crest, wave by wave. I can't help feeling this experience lives in every painting today.

Sometimes, I just dive in straight through the undercurrent, beneath the surface tension there's a direction I can tunnel through on my own. Coming up for air, I find myself on the other side, in deeper waters, floating.
